PHYGE Magazine

The purpose of this project was to create a publication in collaboration with AI in a class taught by professor Pedro Neves. To begin this project, I chose the topic of phygital fashion, which refers to the blending of physical and digital elements within the fashion industry. I also chose to play with the form of a Vogue issue. PHYGE is a play on VOGUE, but all of the story content is about phygital fashioning and written by Chat GPT. The images are all created by Midjourney by feeding images from Vogue, asking the AI to describe what it sees, then asking it to visualize its descriptions. I acted as editor and nudged the AI in a direction that I preferred for this issue of PHYGE. I then followed the layout of my Vogue reference to place images and text to really embody the physical elements of a class fashion magazine, which only upon close inspection would one notice that there is something just a little bit off about each of the images and stories.
